Betty Boop the Movie

  • It was announced in 2014 that Simon Cowell would be making a movie, only known as Betty Boop the Movie featuring Betty Boop.
  • The project had been in the works for several months with Fleischer Studios, owner of the Betty Boop character, partnering with Syco Entertainment and Animal Logic which performed the animation for "The Lego Movie" on a music-driven hybrid animated comedy.
  • The film was later abandoned, and Animal Logic and Simon Cowell's company tried to pitch it to Sony and M-G-M. Both rejected the film, by saying that Betty Boop is "weird" and "out of touch" with audiences.
