Big Boss is a character in Betty Boop's Big Boss. He wants a female secretary to work in his office. Betty Boop is among the several women who attend the interview. Betty sings, "You'd Be Surprised" to entice him. Big Boss kicks all the other women out of his workplace because he thinks they are ugly.
While Betty is working for him, he is clearly smitten with her, but Betty accidentally knocks the typewriter into him, causing him to vomit out his cigar. As Big Boss walks over to Betty in a rage, she says, "did I hurt my pupsy-wupsy?".
Big Boss tries to kiss Betty, but she tells him he's being impolite. He then pursues her around the room. He then chases her around the room, and the anthropomorphic door locks itself, preventing Betty from escaping. Betty rushes to the phone and calls the police. The entire Army arrives to rescue Betty (including Bimbo, who appears to be a police officer), only to be told by Betty, who is kissing Big Boss, that they are fresh.
Trivia
- While Betty is singing "You'd Be Surprised", she quickly flashes her underwear to Big Boss.
- When the cops attempt to shoot Big Boss with their firearms and he fires back, Betty screams, "I wanna play too!" and grabs a pencil sharpener, which she uses as a gun to shoot Big Boss in the behind.
- While the Police and Army are about to save Betty by shooting the building down, it looks like she is being strangled, however, they open the curtains to see her kissing the Boss.
- Betty refers to him as being a "pupsy", a name she would later use for her pet dog Pudgy, which indicates that Big Boss is a dog.
- Despite reporting sexual harassment to the police, Betty succumbs to her Big Boss's sexual advances at the end of the cartoon.
