BETTY BOOP Wiki

Betty Boop has been featured on and off in a variety of commercials through the decades.

A commercial is a TV advertisement. Also known as television commercial, commercial, spot, TV commercial, break, television spot, advert, television advert, TV advert, TV spot, television ad, TV ad or simply an ad. A commercial is a segment of television that is created and funded by a business. It delivers a message intended to market and promote a good, service, or concept. TVCs are a term used by marketers and advertisers to describe television ads.

During the 1980s, Betty did not make appearances in a lot of ads since she was out of style and outdated. Nonetheless, her cameo appearance in Who Framed Roger Rabbit and promotion in the "Betty Boop Campaign" by Ted Hannah contributed to her popularity.

Mae Questel voiced Olive Oyl in the early 1980s for a King Features Syndicate Popeye commercial. But she did not return to voice Betty in any animated commercials during the 1980s, however she acknowledged in a "1980" interview that Betty at that time was appearing in commercials in Japan.

In 1989, Betty Boop voiced by Mary Healey made a small cameo in a Hershey chocolate bar commercial.

In a lottery promo starring Cindy Robinson as Betty Boop's voice, Betty made a brief reappearance in 2010, however it was not very well known. Betty's biggest comeback debut was the 2012 Lancôme commercial, unlike the lottery commercials, Lancôme put a lot more effort into "animating" their animated version of Betty. This role debuted Sandy Fox into the official "animated" voice role, as she was a character impersonator previously at Universal Studios.

Since then, Betty has intermittently made brief animated cameos by promoting and selling merchandise. Betty's most recent TV appearance was in the 2023 Broadway show Boop! the Betty Boop Musical featuring Jasmine Amy Rogers as Betty Boop.
