Fitz the Dog was Koko the Clown's silent partner and made his appearance in the Out of the Inkwell series. The character was removed from the series and later served as base for Bimbo the singing dog, a character who preceded Koko the Clown as the Fleischer Studios mascot. Bimbo was relegated to a supporting character when his girlfriend, Betty Boop, became a more popular character.
